Why NZ Post needs to use the FreePost number instead of the QR code

We use the QR code to check in the package when it arrives at our Materials Recovery Facility, and to assist with sorting.

When dropping the package off at NZ Post, the staff there need to enter the FreePost number (above the address) to register the pre-paid postage.
